Vernon Downs finishes 70th season

Vernon Downs will pull the curtains down on our 70^th anniversary harness racing season on Saturday (Nov. 18).

The “Miracle Mile” enjoyed a great 2023 season. The track opened on July 1^st, 1953. This season of celebration culminated on July 1^st, 2023, with many guests including owner Jeff Gural and legendary announcer Jim Moran. Moran was the race caller for over 50 years. He reminisced about the history of Vernon Downs and signed autographs while chatting with his many fans.

Our last weekend of live racing commences on Friday (November 17) with an 11-race card starting at 6:05 p.m.

On closing night Saturday (November 18) we will recognize our driver and trainer of the year as well as trotter and pacer of the year. The 11-race card also starts at 6:05 p.m.
