Stewardoftheland (Huntsville) with driver Claude Huckabone Jr. and Telenovela (Devious Man) with driver Dylan Huckabone-Miller each won the $7,500 harness racing co-features on Saturday (May 20) at Vernon Downs.
Stewardoftheland ($8.10) cruised to an easy win in the featured pace.

Stewardoftheland Jumped straight to the front and led to the quarter in :27.3. He used a :29.3 second quarter to be first to the half in :57.1. Major Leaguer (Jimmy Whittemore) was first to make a move coming first-up going around the final turn. Stewardoftheland was first to three-quarters in 1:25.2.
As they made the turn for home Stewardoftheland found another gear and won easily in 1:53. Jericho Willie (Frank Affrunti) came up late to finish second. Major Leaguer was third best.
Stewardoftheland is a 4-year-old gelding owned and trained by David Koslowsky. It was his second win of 2023. He now has six career victories.

Discus Hanover (John MacDonald) was first to the quarter in :27.4. He slowed things down with a :30.1 second quarter to be first to the half in :58. Lepanto (Barton Dalious) came first up with a bid as Discus Hanover reached three-quarters in 1:27.2.
As they reached the stretch Discus Hanover still held the lead. Telenovela made her move in deep stretch splitting horses to get the win in 1:56.4. Discus Hanover holds on to finish second. Match My Miracle (Frank Affrunti) came up to take third.
TELENOVELA REPLAY
Telenovela is a 4-year-old mare owned by the Daley Double Stable and trained by Claude Huckabone III. It was her third win of the season. She now has 10 career victories.
