Longshot Amazing Sevens (Chapter Seven) with driver Frank Affrunti captured the featured $5,500 harness racing trot at Vernon Downs on Friday (June 9), paying a generous 11-1 odds.

Zapaca (John MacDonald) went straight to the front and was first to the quarter in :27.4. He used a :29.0 second quarter to be first to the half in :56.4. Amazing Sevens ($25.00) made his move first-up from fifth going around the final turn. Zapaca led to three-quarters in 1:26.2.
As they made the turn for home Amazing Sevens went all out and took over the lead. Poker Play (Steeven Genois) came flying late but had to settle for second as Amazing Sevens won in 1:56.4. Zapaca was third.
Amazing Sevens is a 9-year-old gelding owned and trained by Margaret Spagnola. It was his first win this season and his 15th career victory.
