Golden Kronos (Chapter Seven) and harness racing driver Jimmy Whittemore won the $7,500 featured trot on Saturday (September 9) at Vernon Downs.
Bourbon Express (John MacDonald) was first to the quarter in :27.4.Ā Ā He slowed things down using a :30.4 second quarter to be first to the half in :58.3.Ā Ā Golden Kronos ($6.00) made his move first-up going down the backstretch.Ā Ā Bourbon Express led to three-quarters in 1:28.1.
As they reached the stretch Golden Kronos took a short lead.Ā Ā Bourbon Express battled back from the inside as Lepanto (Barton Dalious) came charging three-wide.Ā Ā Golden Kronos dug in and won in 1:56.1 by a half a length.Ā Ā Lepanto was second best.Ā Ā Telenovela (Claude Huckabone III) came up to finish third.
Golden Kronos is a 9-year-old gelding trained by Chip Zombick for owners Michael and William Pozefsky.Ā Ā It was his third win this season.Ā Ā He now has 38 career victories.

Driver Barton Dalious drove four winners on the card.Ā Ā He finished first with Siros Blue Chip ($61.00), Warrawee Unique ($3.50), Letāsflytogether N ($9.70), and Odds On Brexit ($2.80).
