Fillies & Mares feature to Milleniums Girl

Milleniums Girl (Royel Millenium) and harness racing driver Barton Dalious captured the featured $6,500 fillies & mares pace at Vernon Downs on Friday (November 3).

Milleniums Girl ($5.60) blasted out for the lead and lead to the quarter in :26.4.  So Diva (Chris Long) came first-up going down the backstretch.  Milleniums Girl was first to the half in :56.3.  The two mares battled all the way around the final turn.   Milleniums Girl led to three-quarters in 1:25.4.

As they reached the stretch Milleniums Girl broke free and it became a race for second.  Milleniums Girl won easily in 1:53.4.  The Hunt Is On (Truman Gale) fired late to finish second.  Jeannies Terror (Tom Merton) collected third money.

Milleniums Girl is a 5-year-old mare trained by David Dewhurst for owners Chris and Dale Lawton.  It was her fourth win this season.  She now has 14 career victories.
