Harness racing driver Gerry Longo recorded win No. 3,000 on Saturday night at Cal Expo Harness when he guided A Major Omen to victory in the evening’s co-featured Open Pace.
The 76-year-old Longo also owns and trains A Major Omen, who has captured all three of his starts at this meet since arriving from Kentucky, including the Dave Goldschmidt Pace on December 10.
A MAJOR OMEN REPLAY
Longo recorded his first driving win in 1966 at the Tiffien Fair in Ohio and had one of his best years in 1972 when he set two world records and beat Joe O’Brien for the driving title at Hollywood Park.
Cal Expo congratulates Gerry Longo on joining the 3,000-win Club!
