WASHINGTON, PA, Nov. 16, 2022 — Dismissed at 19-1, Slick Artist A (Art Major-Slick Bird) overtook Crisp Mane in deep stretch to spring the harness racing upset in Wednesday’s (Nov. 16) $19,300 Filly & Mare Open Handicap Pace at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows.
After cutting a comfortable 57.2 front half, Crisp Mane appeared uncatchable. But when Ridge Warren angled Slick Artist A off the cones from third into the final turn, the 8-year-old mare accelerated quickly and downed Crisp Mane by 1/2 length in 1:53.2 over a “good” surface. Irish Daydream finished third.
