Wehadababyetzaboy (Sweet Lou) exploded in the stretch and won the harness racing Blue Hen Handicap Pace at Bally’s Dover on Thursday night.
Adam Twelve left alertly from post seven and grabbed the early lead reaching the opening quarter in 26.3. Leave It To Leo waited for the dust to settle and was parked out. He ultimately cleared the lead in front of the grandstand.
Leave It To Leo led the field to the half in 54.3 (28). A squadron of pacers maneuvered up the backstretch on the rim. Hundred Dollar Man was the first to move to the outside but went off stride. Mack avoided the breaker after following a 2nd over journey. Itsrockandroll A shadowed 3rd over. Wehadababyzetzaboy waited for his opportunity from dead last and from an impossible spot. The lukewarm betting favorite Adam Twelve hugged the pylons in the pocket.
Leave It to Leo continued on the lead and eyed the three quarters in 1:23.2 (28.4).
Itsrockandroll A finished 2nd and Adam Twelve was 3rd.

However, the back field was in motion and closing fast. Mack maintained a 1st over drive but that bid stalled. Itsrockandroll A, last week’s winner, circled three wide past the three quarters. Wehadababyetzaboy was launched 4 wide and steamrolled past the field in the stretch to win by two and a half lengths in 1:53. He paid $24 for the victory.
