Wheelzablazin charges late to win

Wheelzablazin (Wheeling N Dealin) charges late to win the featured $11,000 harness racing trot at Tioga Downs on Saturday (May 03).

Wheelzablazin ($8.20) grabbed the early lead but Duly Resolved (Tyler Miller) took over just before hitting the quarter first in :29.2.  He slowed things down and led to the half in 1:00.3.  Consus Victory (Aaron Byron) came flying down the backstretch and led to three-quarters in 1:30.2.

As the reached the stretch Wheelzablazin (Colin Kelly) came three-wide and blew right on by to win in 1:58.2.  Consus Victory held for second.  Duly Resolved finished third.

Wheelzablazin is a 4-year-old gelding by Wheeling N Dealin.  He is owned by Cliff Grundy and trained by Mike Watson.  It was his third win this season.  He now has 15 career victories.

Mike Merton, Tyler Miller, and Colin Kelly each had driving triples.  Rob Harmon had a training triple.

Tioga Downs returns to live racing on Sunday (May 4) with a post time of 1 p.m.
