Anderson, IN— An exciting afternoon of Indiana Sire Stakes action took place at Harrah’s Hoosier Park on Friday (Oct. 6), and Why Not Now (Always A Virgin, Lewayne Miller, $2.40) and Buzzsaw Russ (Rockin Image, John De Long, $8.60) finished first in their respective $50,000 harness racing paces for 3-year-old colts and geldings.
In the first $50,000 division, Ifudntnomebynow (Devon Tharps) took the early lead, with Frankie Frankie (Atlee Bender) following closely in second, and Why Not Now not far behind in third. They went by the quarter in :26. On the backstretch, Why Not Now moved up from the outside to take the lead. Frankie Frankie was racing in second and Ifudntnomebynow was following in third as they passed the half mile in :55. Continuing around the turn, Why Not Now was keeping his lead. He was on top by three lengths as they passed the three-quarter mile in 1:25. Why Not Now crossed the wire in 1:52, two and a half lengths in front of Frankie Frankie. David Allan Whoa (Joey Putnam) finished in third.

Coach Stefanos (Trace Tetrick) took the early lead in the second $50,000 stakes pace division, with Buzzsaw Russ following in second. Coach Stefanos held on to the lead, with Buzzsaw Russ in second, and Henry The Horse (Kyle Wilfong) in third ss they passed the quarter mile in :28 and half mile in :56.
Coach Stefanos had a length over Buzzsaw Russ as they moved to the top of the stretch. They passed the three-quarter mile in 1:24.2. Buzzsaw Russ moved to the front from the outside, stealing the lead and crossing the wire first in 1:50.4. Coach Stefanos followed a head behind the leader, and Henry The Horse came in third.

It`s Corona Time (Aracache Hanover, Ricky Macomber Jr, $3.40) won the first division of the $49,500 pace for 3-year-old fillies.
Out of the gate, It’s Corona Time took the early lead, with Dixie Dream (Jordan Ross) following closely on the inside in second. It’s Corona Time still led the way as they passed the first quarter in :26.4.
As they made their way down the backstretch, Fortunada (John De Long) moved to the front from the outside to steal the lead. Fortunada had the lead, with It’s Corona Time following in second as they passed the half mile in :56.2. They were still in this position as they passed the three-quarter mile in 1:25.3. It’s Corona Time found an opening on the inside to move up, taking the lead and crossing the wire first in 1:53, a head ahead of Dixie Dream. Fotrunada finished in third.

Walkin On Sunshine (Always A Virgin, Jay Cross, $8.60) won the second $49,500 pace for 3-year-old fillies.
La Rockin Shania (John De Long) left the gate first, but Sweet Tell (Ricky Macomber Jr) quickly stole the lead from the outside. Walkin On Sunshine was racing in third as they passed the quarter mile in :26.
Walkin On Sunshine moved to the front from the outside, taking over the lead and leaving Sweet Tell in second as they passed the half mile in :56.
Shadowrage (Jared Seekman) came up to challenge Walkin On Sunshine for the lead as they came to the top of the stretch in a three-quarter mile time of 1:25.2. Walkin On Sunshine crossed the wire in 1:52.4, two abd one-half lengths in front of Queen’s Reign (Peter Wrenn) and Sweet Tell, who came in second and third respectively.
