Middlebury, IN — Indiana’s superstar horse Why Not Now is in the middle of the harness racing breeding season for Premier Acres and will also qualify at Hoosier Park on Wednesday (May 8) as he begins the stake season.

Performing “double duty” this year as an Indiana stallion and Grand Circuit racehorse, Why Not Now has been in training while also breeding three days per week for a great group of mares in the state of Indiana.

As the Indiana Sire Stake champion in 2023 for the 3-year-old pacing division, Why Not Now also won the Jenna’s Beach Boy at Hoosier in 1:48.2. He finished the year winning the Progress Pace in 1:48.2 on Dover’s five-eighths-mile track, defeating Moment Is Here, El Rey, Cannibal and Stockade Seelster.

Greg Luther, the owner of Why Not Now, said, “This year as a 4-year-old, we are going to race him against the very best in Grand Circuit competition. Our major focus in 2024 is to do well in the Graduate, but most importantly win the Dan Patch Stakes at Hoosier Park as an Indiana favorite. He’s got some great mares to breed this year and once we get him a record at 1:47 or better, I believe he’ll be considered one of Indiana’s best pacing stallion prospects.”

Why Not Now will qualify at Hoosier Park as he prepares for the first leg of the Graduate at Woodbine Mohawk Park. He’ll then hustle on back to northern Indiana where he will breed a few mares the same day. Indiana breeders are invited to come inspect him at Hoosier Park Wednesday morning.
