Widger, Tetrick score grand slams at Miami Valley

Harness racing drivers Sam Widger and Trace Tetrick scored grand slams at Miami Valley Raceway on Sunday (Feb. 18). Widger visited the winners circle with Summa Beach (Fear The Dragon), Run Run Elegant (Rose Run Hooligan), New Guy In Town (Ss Poseidon), and he won the $34,000 Open pace with Mossdale Lottee N (Bettor’s Delight). Tetrick won with Chedda Chedda (Betterthancheddar), Shesalljackedup (If I Can Dream), Wiggle My Cookie (Mr Wiggles), and Saulsbrook C Horse (Betterthancheddar).

Intothemysticmoon (Chris Page) went for the early lead in the feature race, but was overcome by Mossdale Lottee N. As they reached the opening quarter mile in :28, Mossdale Lottee N was in front, followed by Newsy N (Dan Noble) and Fear Our Fayth (Jeremy Smith).

Intothemysticmoon was first-over and looking to challenge Newsy N for second. They went by the half mile in :57.2.

As they approached the three-quarter mile in 1:25.3, Mossdale Lottee N was still the one to catch. As they came down the stretch, Mossdale Lottee N had the lead by three lengths over Newsy N. Mossdale Lottee N crossed the wire in 1:53.3. Newsy N came in second and Intothemysticmoon followed in third.

Mossdale Lottee N is an 8-year-old mare trained by Jason Brewer for owners Tonya Nichols and Jason Brewer. She paid $13.80 to win.
