Harness racing trainer Michael Hall has had Wings Of Speed since the middle of January and the new acquisition is paying dividends for his barn at Rosecroft Raceway.
Wednesday night, the six-year-old son of Archangel, beat Judge Bob for a second straight week, as Trae Porter put him on the front and was never headed, winning in 1:54.1. It was part of a driving double on the night for Porter.
It was the fourth win in seven starts this year, six of those starts in Hall’s care, and the second straight win with the 20-year-old Porter in the bike. The two straight wins came after the gelding made breaks in back to back starts but has returned to his winning ways. It was one of three wins on the night for Hall.
Veteran drivers Jonathan Roberts and John Wagner had three wins each on the card, and yet another young driver, 18-year-old Bryson Dunning had his first pari-mutuel driving double. The youngster won two fair races at Woodstock on the same card last year.
Driver Jared Moyer returned to the winner’s circle in his second night back after a racing accident in mid February, as he won with Flashazz N.
