Monticello, NY— The favorite Daamericansky (American Ideal, Gregory Merton) won the $6,500 harness racing Open pace at Monticello Raceway on Tuesday afternoon (Dec. 5).
Trevor’s Ace (Adam Moeykens) took the early lead, but Daamericansky and Ready To Rumble N (Joseph Chindano Jr) quickly rushed to challenge. As they reached the first quarter mile pole in :27.1, Daamericansky stole the lead from the far outside.
As they passed the half mile in :57.3 and the three-quarter mile in 1:26.3, Daamericansky was in front, followed by Air Guitar (Cory Stratton) in second and Trevor’s Ace in third.
Swinging around the final turn, Daamericansky pulled away by three lengths over Trevor’s Ace in second. Daamericansky crossed the wire in 1:55.4, a length ahead of Trevor’s Ace. Smart Talker (Mcgwire Sowers) finished in third.

Daamericansky is an 8-year-old gelding owned by Melvin Fink and trained by Andrew Adamczyk. He paid $3.10 to win.
Jim Taggart Jr had a driving double and Thomas Merton had a driving triple.
