Monticello, NY— Coming up from Yonkers Raceway, Meadowbrook Jenny (Rockin Image, Gregory Merton) won the $6,500 harness racing Open Fillies and Mares pace at Monticello Raceway on Tuesday afternoon (Dec. 26).
Meadowbrook Jenny took the early lead, followed by Special Graduate (Adam Moeykens) and Sunshine Filly (Bruce Aldrich Jr). They passed the first quarter mile in :29 and the half mile in 1:00.
As they made their way down the backstretch, Meadowbrook Jenny had a length advantage over Special Graduate. Sunshine Filly was racing in third.
As they reached the three-quarter mile in 1:29.3, Sunshine Filly moved to challenge Special Graduate from the outside. Meadowbrook Jenny kept her lead and crossed the wire first in 1:57.4. Special Graduate followed in second and Thinking Of A Card (Joseph Ricco Jr) finished in third.

Meadowbrook Jenny is a 5-year-old mare owned by Room4040 LLC Stables and trained by Peter Pellegrino. She paid $4.50 to win.
Jim Taggart Jr, David Dziengiel, and Gregory Merton had driving doubles. Bruce Aldrich Jr had a driving triple. Gary Messenger had a training double.
