Self Made (Fear The Dragon, Trevor Smith) won the $25,000 Open Handicap harness racing pace at Hollywood Gaming Dayton Raceway on Thursday (Dec. 21).
Self Made took the early lead, followed by Incredible Man (Luke Hanners). As they approached the opening quarter in :26.1, Self Made had the lead, Incredible Man had the pocket, and Artatac A (Dan Noble) was moving toward the front from the far outside.
They reached the half mile in :54, with Self Made in the lead, Artatac A in second, and Incredible Man in third. From the far outside, race favorite Let It Ride N (Chris Page) moved into the two hole. They passed the three-quarter mile in 1:21.1.
As they turned for home, Self Made was holding on to the lead by two lengths over Let It Ride N and Incredible Man. Self Made crossed the wire in 1:49.2, winning by two and one-half lengths. This Kit Rocks (Joey Putnam) followed in second and Brookview Bullet (Josh Sutton) finished in third.

It was a lifetime mark, his first sub 1:50 record and the sixth win this season for Self Made, a 4-year-old gelding owned by Last Laugh LLC and trained by Christi Noble. He paid $15.00 to win.
