Harness racing driver Tim Tetrick worked like a magician maneuvering through traffic as Workslikeacharm (E L Platinum) won the $51,200 Delaware Standardbred Fund Late Closer Final at Ballyās Dover on Tuesday night (March 26).
The 4/5 betting favorite Lgās Jaxon left with authority and set fractions of :27.3, :58 and 1:27. Its Oliver Now sat the pocket trip.
Lgās Bluestone offered mild pressure and raced first up down the backstretch. Jetsam followed second over.
Workslikeacharm remained patient from 6th place and followed cover third over.
At the top of the stretch Workslikeacharm and Tetrick began to weave through heavy traffic and surged past the pacesetter Lgās Jaxon late and won by a neck in 1:57.3, a lifetime mark.

It was a clean sweep of the series and the third straight win for Workslikeacharm. He is owned by Brett A. Macdonald of Freelton, Ontario, Canada.Ā Jim King Jr. trains and he paid $4.40 for the win.
Lgās Bluestone closed late and finished second.Ā Lgās Jaxon, the pace setter finished third.
Manatlas (E L Titan) and driver Montrell Teague saved ground the mile and became an upset winner at odds of 24-1 in the $26,000 Open Handicap Trot.
Last Glow, who won back-to-back races, was parked to the opening quarter in :27.3.Ā The complexion of the race changed when race favorite Speed Away made a break in front of the stands.
Muscle Dynasty continued on a steady gain on the outside. Last Glow continued on the lead at the half in :57. Muscle Dynasty, who was parked to the half, continued to pressure Last Glow down the backstretch. The Fast Lane followed second over down the backstretch.
Manatlas was content to watch the action from the pocket.Ā Last Glow remained on the lead and sprinted to the three quarters in 1:25.1, a :28.1 kicker.
The Fast Lane and Crystal Fashion were closing fast at the top of the stretch. Manatlas snaked thru along the pylons surging late and won by a neck in 1:55.
He returned a robust $51 for the win.

The Fast Lane closed to finish second and Crystal Fashion finished third.
Tim Tetrick won three races on the betting card.
Southwind Icenfire takes on Jody and Misty Coast in the $26,000 Mares Open Handicap Pace on Wednesday. There is a pick four carryover worth $2,759 on Wednesday. Wednesday and Thursday are the remaining days left for the live harness racing season.
