Representatives of the World Trade Center Institute

On Friday, October 15th, close to 30 representatives of the World Trade Center Institute (WTCI) toured Winbak Farm in Chesapeake, MD.

“Joe Thomson believes in creating strong connections with programs like the World Trade Center Institute of Maryland,” said Jack Burke of Winbak Farm. “The program participants are leading representatives from strong Maryland-connected companies such as McCormick & Company, Pandora, PNC, Stanley Black & Decker, Inc. and Under Armour.”

The WTCI guests had stayed at Winbak Farm on Thursday for leadership activities as part of the EDGE (Emerging and Developing Global Executives) program. Close to 100 organizations from across Maryland are members of the World Trade Center Institute.

“The beautiful scenery at the Tybridge division makes a great backdrop for their activities,” said Burke. “We have been a host for the EDGE retreat multiple times now but each time it is a new group of people, each with unique backgrounds, being exposed to the industry.”
The group ended their stay on Friday with a presentation from Joe Thomson, Winbak Farm Owner, about Winbak Farm’s role in the harness-racing industry and the global partnerships the farm has created, along with a tour of the operation and a luncheon provided by the farm.

“We love exposing new people to the industry,” said Burke. “WTCI representatives were able to learn about all parts of the operation including yearlings, racehorses, broodmares and even the famous Clydesdales.”
