Dayton, Ohio – Age is nothing but a number to the 3-year-old filly Ainthesamewithoutu (Sweet Lou). As the youngest harness racing competitor in the field of seven, Ainthesamewithoutu dominated the mature mares in the $25,300 Fillies and Mares Open Pace on Friday (Dec. 16) at Hollywood Gaming at Dayton Raceway.
Driver Tony Hall left the gate alertly with 8-5 favorite Ainthesamewithoutu. The filly never gave the older mares a chance as she set fractions in :27.3, :56.3, and 1:23.4. Despite being challenged by 2-1 second choice Rockin Nola in the final turn, Ainthesamewithoutu urged on. Seemingly on cruise control, Ainthesamewithoutu tripped the wire in an easy 1:53.
Marloe Hanover (Brett Miller) held on for second while Classicist (Chris Page) finished third.
The victory marked two in a row for Ainthesamewithoutu. The filly has now won three of her four open level ventures with an additional second place finish. In 21 seasonal starts, Ainthesamewithoutu has bankrolled $91,745 for breeder-owner-trainer Anette Lorentzon.
