Harness racing driver Scott Zeron has a broken hip and dislocated shoulder following an accident at Pocono Downs on Tuesday (Jul. 26).
The sixth race was declared a no contest after Zeron’s mount, Java, fell just after the start and tossed him from the bike. Matt Kakaley was also thrown from the sulky of Chances Are Ideal when its right wheel collided with Java. The outrider caught Chances Are Ideal, who continued galloping loose. Java was reportedly retrieved from the infield. The judges called off the race shortly after the incident.
