The successes of the two-year-old fillies Sonic Suzy and Billie Jo Star over the weekend at Gloucester Park and Wagin respectively has elevated their sire Follow The Stars into the top bracket of percentage sires in the country.
Follow The Stars, the former NZ and Australian 2YO Colt of the Year, has been represented by 13 individual two-year-old winners from a foal crop of 54 ā almost a 25 percent strike rate.
Another of his latest racing crop, Rellim, notched his second success at Narrogin. The youngster was one of four winners sired by Follow The Stars at the meeting in the three-year-olds Robbie Rocket and Our Boy Archie, Galactic Ruler and Rellim.
Wheresthetowrope, a winner at Pinjarra recently, became Follow The Starsā 27th individual three-year-old and 55th overall winner for the season. His stock has earned $1.1 million in 2021.
Follow The Starās current crop of babies is headed up by the Group 2 WA Champagne Classic winner Bushwacked (1:56.9), the Westsired Classic winner Follow The Music (1:56.7), The Good Star (1:55.3) and the Listed placegetters Bonstar and See The World.
Follow The Stars is standing this season at the Medowie Lodge stud, near Newcastle, of prominent NSW studmaster and breeder Darren Reay.
