Ginger Tree Skyr draws off in top trot

Ginger Tree Skyr wired the field in the Winners Over/Select Trot at Dover Downs on Tuesday night.

Sent off at even odds, Ginger Tree Skyr did not disappoint and welcomed the mild 55-degree weather.

Harness racing driver Corey Callahan and Ginger Tree Skyr aggressively quarter moved from third and cut the mile. The fractions were 27.4 56.4 1:25.2 1:54.2.

Quiksilvr Blue Chip left then yielded to Ginger Tree Skyr at the quarter. Remarkable De Vie moved 1st over down the backstretch but could only offer mild pressure to Ginger Tree Skyr.

Ginger Tree Skyr drew off in the stretch and won by 3 lengths in 1:54.2. He paid $4 for the win. Ginger Tree Skyr (Explosive Matter) and is owned by Nick Callahan, Yorwollahan Racing Team and Gregory Godbout all from Delaware. Nick Callahan trains the winner.

Blue Cupertino saved ground along the rail and finished 2nd for trainer Joe Columbo, Mike Cole drove.
Remarkable De Vie raced 1st up and finished third. Traci Berry trained and Pat Berry drove.

GINGER TREE SKYR REPLAY

It was a big night for Corey Callahan, he won 4 races on the betting card.

Soho Burning Love A highlights the mares Open Handicap Pace on Wednesday.

On Thursday there are 4 divisions of the Delaware Standardbred Breeders Fund Finals for 3-year-old pacers and trotters. Each Final carries a purse of $100,000.

Jack’s Legend N looks for his 3rd consecutive victory in the $25,000 Open Handicap Pace. Post Time for Dover Downs is 4:30 pm

Dover Downs live harness racing will be dark from December 17 thru December 26, in observance of the Christmas Holiday.

Live harness racing resumes on Monday December 27.
