Big M opens terrace, backyard and more

Meadowlands Racing & Entertainment’s Championship harness racing meet kicks off this Friday, May 6. That date also spells the opening of Victory Terrace and the Backyard for the Spring/Summer season.

Victory Terrace, the sprawling outdoor rooftop lounge, offers spectacular views of the live harness racing action and the New York City skyline. Every Friday and Saturday during live racing guests can enjoy full bar & grill service and a DJ playing Top 40 hits.

The Backyard BBQ & Grill and Backyard Bar also open for the season this weekend. While watching the world’s greatest harness racing on the track, fans can grab some delicious pulled pork, BBQ brisket and mac & cheese from the Grill and thirst-quenching cocktails and beer from the Backyard Bar.

Friday, May 6 experience a taste of Mexico with the $49.95 Cinco de Mayo buffet. The menu includes chicken tortilla soup, chili con queso, chimichurri skirt steak, garlic-lime shrimp, pollo asada, black beans and yellow rice.  Homemade tres leches cake rounds out the meal.

On Kentucky Derby Day, Saturday, May 7, guests can enjoy a southern-themed dinner buffet for $74.95.  The buffet will open early at 4pm to accommodate guests coming out to watch the Derby before live racing.  Dishes include shrimp and andouille gumbo, strawberry fields salad with bleu cheese and white balsamic vinaigrette, bbq glazed prime rib, apple cider pork chops, creole mac and cheese and crispy catfish.  NY cheesecake and deep chocolate cake round out this scrumptious meal.
