WASHINGTON, PA, June 29, 2022 — Strong Poison (Always B Miki-Flyonce) confidently pulled the pocket into the final turn to win her harness racing career debut in Wednesday’s Pop-Up Series at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows.
Calliope Hanover (Stay Hungry-Castaway Hanover) was a front-end winner in the other $8,000 second-leg division of the series for 2-year-old filly pacers.
Strong Poison stalked Dontletjuliafoolya from the two hole, but when Ronnie Wrenn, Jr. tipped her off the cones, she zipped by to down Dontletjuliafoolya by 3-1/2 lengths in 1:55.3, with Stay Happy third.
Ron Burke trains Strong Poison for Burke Racing Stable, J&T Silva Stables, Knox Services and Beasty LLC.

Calliope Hanover seized the lead from post 5 for Hunter Myers but had to dig in late to hold off Hello Yes Hi by a nose in 1:56.1. Southwind Bourbon completed the ticket.
