The Group 3 $31,160 Redcliffe Derby was a triumph for Tintin In America as the harness racing sire of the winner Tim’s A Trooper and Teddy Disco (3rd) – rather a notable siring feat.
Tim’s A Trooper, who was bred by Yirribee Pacing Stud, who stands his sire, posted his seventh success and his third at Group level. He has now earned $219,843.
Tintin In America, who also sired the brilliant 1:55 Auckland winner Jack Tar, is second on the three-year-old sire’s list for average earnings per starter, behind only Bettor’s Delight.
The North America Cup hero Fear The Dragon continues to churn out the winners from his first two crops in America. He was represented by a pair of two-year-old winners in Fearthelue (1:54.4) and Fear Of Sports (1:55.2) and the three-year-olds Diva’s Dragon, who won the $US32,000 Daryl Sherman Pace in 1:53.8, Odds On Capitalism (1:51.4), Pearl Snaps (1:52.6) and Sectionline Dragon (1:53).
Lady Zegna, a first crop daughter of Yirribee stallion Warrawee Needy, overcame a brief miscue and a torrid passage to notch her fourth win in seven starts at the Gloucester Park midweek meeting.
Meanwhile, Renaissance Man’s smart son Medieval Man led throughout at Gloucester Park on Friday (June 24) to complete his 15th win and lift his stake earnings beyond the $130,000 mark.
