Harness racing driver John MacDonald drove four winners on the card including the featured $8,700 pace with Sgt Papa Daddy (Rockin Image) over a sloppy, rain-soaked track at Vernon Downs on Saturday (November 12).

Sgt Papa Daddy ($4.80) shot right out of the gate and went right to the front and led to the quarter in :27.0.  He used a :29.1 second quarter to be first to the half in :56.1.  Northern Rein (Brandon Parker) made a first-over move going around the final turn.  Sgt Papa Daddy was first to three-quarters in 1:24.4.

As they made the turn for home Sgt Papa Daddy and Northern Rein continued to battle. Sgt Papa Daddy dug in and found something extra to win in 1:52.3.  Northern Rein had to settle for second.  Major Leaguer (Jimmy Whittemore) finished third.

Sgt Papa Daddy is an 8-year-old gelding owned by MacDonald and trained by Kimberly Hines.  It was his sixth win of the season.  He now has 42 career victories.

SGT PAPA DADDY REPLAY

J-Mac combined with Hines to get wins with Zappa ($4.60), and Night Explorer ($16.00).  He got his other win with Love Yourself ($5.70).  Brandon Parker drove three winners on the card.  He got his wins with Mr French ($11.00), The Blazing Truth ($49.00), and Le Millenaire ($6.40).

Live racing returns to Vernon Downs for our closing weekend starting on Friday (November 18) at 6:05 p.m.
