WASHINGTON, PA, March 1, 2023 — Modern Rock needed every inch of the Lightning Lane to get there, but get there he did, capturing Wednesday’s (Mar. 1) harness racing feature at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows, a $13,400 starter Allowance Pace.
Ice House threw down a 1:23.3 three-quarters to discourage most of the field, but he couldn‘t shake Modern Rock stalking from the pocket. When Ronnie Wrenn, Jr. pointed him inside, the 6-year-old gelding finally wore down Ice House and edged him by a nose in 1:52.4. Benji’s Best rallied for show.
