Three straight Open wins for Muscle Dynasty

Muscle Dynasty (Muscle Hill) flexed his muscles once again enroute to his third consecutive harness racing victory in the $25,000 Open Handicap Trot at Bally’s Dover on Tuesday night (March 14).

Northern Express (Russell Foster) blasted off the wings of the starting gate and led the field to the opening quarter in :28.2.  Embrace The Grind settled in the pocket.

Muscle Dynasty and driver Corey Callahan left from post seven, settled, then brushed to the lead past the quarter.  The field remained in single file as Muscle Dynasty, the 8/5 betting favorite, intimated the field, passing the half in :56.4.

Embrace The Grind moved first up into the wind. JL Cruze shadowed second over. However, their bids stalled nearing the three-quarter pole,

Muscle Dynasty maintained a length and a half advantage to the three quarters in 1:26.2. Northern Express came out from the pocket in the stretch, but was unable to make up any ground on the leader.

Muscle Dynasty won confidently by two and a half lengths and trotted the mile in 1:55.3.  He paid $5.20 for the win.

MUSCLE DYNASTY REPLAY

Muscle Dynasty is owned by Frank Chick of Harrington, Delaware and is trained by Shea Lare. The pocket sitter Northern Express finished second for trainer Arty Foster Jr. Quicksilvr Bluechip closed along the pylons to finish third for trainer/ driver Victor Kirby.

Driver Mike Cole and trainer Joe Columbo combined to win four races on the betting card.  Their owners George and Tina Dennis also won four races.

Tim Tetrick pitched in with a driving triple.

Racing continues on Wednesday at Bally’s Dover. The feature race is the $25,000 Mares Open Pace.  Post Time is 4:30 pm.
