The 6th race feature for three-year-old pacing fillies saw Always B Naughty (David Miller) go right to the early lead with Strong Poison (Yannick Gingras) grab the two-hole spot as they raced to the opening quarter mile in :27.1.

The field remained in single file to the half mile in :54.4 before the action began to heat up. In the backstretch, Gringras came out of the two-hole to go first-over and carry with them second-over was the race favorite, Twin B Joe Fresh and driver Dexter Dunn. Always B Naughty was still in command of the race when they passed the three-quarters in 1:22.1, but began to fade as Strong Poison took over the lead.

By the top of the stretch, Dunn unleashed Twin B Joe Fresh, who took over the lead and held off Strong Poison with her :25.4 last quarter mile to win by one and three-quarter lengths. Cultured (Scott Zeron) was third.

Darby Creek upsets in Commonwealth Series

It required every inch of the red clay oval for 47-1 shot Darby Creek to get her head in front of Diamondsnpearls (Dunn, Takter), but the daughter of Downbytheseaside and driver Austin Hanners did exactly that to stop the clock in 1:51.3.

Hungry For Love (D. Miller, Ron Burke) was another head back in third for a rousing finish to the line.

Darby Creek, trained by Brian Brown, is owned by Donald Robinson, Michael Robinson, Robert Mondillo and Rich Lombardo racing. The filly is the sixth foal of out Moonlit Dragon who collected $385,902 on the racetrack. She was a $35,000 purchase at the 2021 Lexington Selected Sale.

The filly was bred by Steve Stewart and co-owners D. Robinson and M. Robinson.

Darby Creek paid $97.78 to win with Diamondsnpearls paying $6.24 and Hungry For Love rounding out the trifecta at $3.44.
