Knight Angel (Archangel) and driver Tyler Miller captured the featured $12,000 harness racing trot at Tioga Downs on Friday (August 11).

Creekside Pete (Corey Braden) grabbed the early lead, but Knight Angel ($12.40) went on by just before hitting the quarter first in :27.2. He used a :29.2 second quarter to be first to the half in :56.4. He cruised to three-quarters in 1:25.1.
As they reached the stretch second place finisher Creekside Pete pulled the pocket and came all out after Knight Angel as Andover Contessa (Mike Merton) made it three across the track. Knight Angel dug in and won in 1:55.2. Andover Contessa finished third.
Knight Angel is a 7-year-old gelding owned by Jaypaul Hoover and trained by Julie Miller. It was his fourth win of the season. He now has 23 career victories.

Merton gets a grand slam!
Leading driver Mike Merton added four more wins to give him 83 wins on the season. He got his wins with Barcelona Princess, Glory Is Mine, Alta Madeira N, and Can’t Say No.
