London, ON – March 13, 2024 — El Toro Loco (Walner) added his name to the Western Fair harness racing record books on Wednesday evening as he captured the eveningās $11,600 Preferred Handicap Trot in 1:56, equaling the record for older trotting geldings which was held jointly by Brawn Seelster (2008) and Platoon Seelster (2016).
The five-year-old gelding, a relatively new recruit for the No One Knows Us Stable and trainer Steve Bossence, was sent to the front early by driver Garret Rooney and went unchallenged through quick splits of :28.1, :57.3 and 1:26.4. Six other pursuers were unable to stay with the tempo sitter who kicked home in :29.1 for the dominant victory.
