HAMBURG, N.Y. — Shecouldbegood N (Well Said-Summer Solstice) wasn’t just good, she was absolutely great in Buffalo Raceway’s featured $12,200 harness racing event for the distaff pacers on Wednesday afternoon (April 17).
Making her first start on the campaign at Buffalo Raceway, ShecouldbegoodĀ N took early control of the race approaching the opening quarter pole and never looked back inĀ cruisingĀ to a resounding 2-1/2 length victory over McVera in 1:55.2 over the good track. Miss Rockadali (Jim Morrill Jr.) took the show position.
It was a scramble for the early advantage as McVera (James McNeight Jr.) andĀ ImprincessgemmaĀ A (Billy Davis Jr.) duked it out for supremacy. Once the two settled things on the front end, ShecouldbegoodĀ N (Drew Monti) zoomed right to the top and hit the opening panel in :29.1.
From there, Imprincessgemma A was first over just past the half, but that rally fell apart, leaving Shecouldbegood N and McVera alone in a two horse break away. But that duel evaporated quickly as Shecouldbegood N pulled away from McVera at the top of the lane and strolled to the convincing victory.
Owned by Michael Milazzo and trained by Candace Brandstatter, it was the fourth win in 10 attempts this season for the 11-year-old Shecouldbegood N. The victory increased her 2024 earnings to $30,010 and $362,233 lifetime.
Morrill Jr., Davis Jr. and Monti all had doubles on the matinee card with Ryan Swift collecting a pair of training victories.
Racing will return on Friday afternoon with a 10-race program set for 2:30 p.m.
