WASHINGTON, PA, May 15, 2024 — Millionaire Marloe Hanover (Captaintreacherous-Mesmerize Bluechip) held off the Lightning Lane surge of Fighting Evil to capture Wednesday’s $19,200 Filly & Mare Open Handicap Pace — her third harness racing win in the last four starts — at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows.
Marloe Hanover grabbed the lead in a contested :27.1 opening panel, but when Dave Palone gave her a :29 second-quarter breather, the 7-year-old mare had plenty left for the drive. She downed the pocket-sitting Fighting Evil by 3/4 lengths in 1:51.2 while High Flyin’ Filly rallied for show.
