BERLIN, MD — Harness racing drivers Russell Foster and Johnathan Ahle were the stars on Thursday night (June 6) at Ocean Downs, each winning three races on the 12-race program.
Foster kicked off his hat trick in the co-featured seventh race, an $8,000 third-level conditioned pace, with Techtopia Hanover (Artspeak), whom he owns in partnership with Arty Foster III and whom his wife, Megan, trains.
The 7-year-old gelding rated a :57.1 first half before speeding away from pressure in the far turn and holding 1-5 favorite Early Action three-quarters of a length at bay in 1:55.3.
As the 6-1 second choice, Techtopia Hanover paid $15.00 to win.
Foster also won with Rock Solid Bet ($5.00, 1:56.2) for trainer John Cabot and Mikalob Ultra ($10.00, 1:57.2) for trainer Katie Callahan.
Ahle rolled back-to-back wins in the fifth and sixth races, prevailing with Iwishnottobtouched ($14.00, 1:59) for trainer Bib Roberts and Center Of It All ($3.40, 1:55) for trainer John Wagner before coming back to win the 11th with overwhelming favorite Cult Classic ($2.10, 1:59.3) for owner-trainer Mike Hall.
