New York Sire Stakes rolls into Vernon Downs

Venon Downs plays host to two $57,000 harness racing divisions of the New York Sire Stakes (NYSS) for 3-year-old pacing fillies on Friday (June 21).

Peace Talks (American Ideal) and driver Jason Bartlett are the one to beat in the $57,000 first division.  The filly by is trained by Chris Ryder.  She is two for three this season including NYSS wins at Tioga Downs and Buffalo.  She has four career wins and has won over $320,000 in her career.

The Ron Burke trained Camerican (American Ideal) and driver Jim Marohn Jr. are her top rival.  The filly has a win and a second in three starts this season.  She has won nearly $300,000 in her career.

Chris Ryder trains the 6-5 morning line favorite Tarrific (Huntsville) who will be driven by Jason Bartlett in the $57,000 second division.  The filly is coming off an impressive NYSS win at Tioga Downs.

Leanne’s Choice (Courtly Choice) and driver Marcus Miller are the 3-1 second morning line favorite in the second division.  Erv Miller trains the filly.  She has three seconds in her four starts as a sophomore after going three for five as a 2-year-old.

The 15-race card starts at 4:00 p.m.
