Tam Major A shakes off the competition

Tam Major A (Art Major) and harness racing driver Braxten Boyd captured the $11,000 featured pace at Tioga Downs on Sunday (July 28).

Bluesville (Jim Pantaleano) was first to the quarter in :26.1.  Tam Major A ($4.40) then took the lead with a lap to go and was first to the half :55.1.  Sports Fan (Greg Merton) came first-up to challenge as they went down the backstretch.  Tam Major A held a short lead to three-quarters in 1:22.2.

As they reached the stretch Tam Major A shook off Sports Fan and held off the late charging Cultural Paradise (Ridge Warren) to win in 1:51.0.  Cultural Paradise had to settle for second.  It’s In The Stars (Tyler Miller) finished third.

Tam Major A is a10-year-old horse owned by Brian Carsey and trained by Brandy Wine.  It was his 10th win this season.  He now has 41 career victories.

TAM MAJOR A REPLAY

Braxten Boyd and Tyler Miller had driving triples.  Mike Deters and Domenico Leotta had training doubles.

Live racing returns to Tioga Downs on Friday (August 2) at 6:15 p.m.
