WASHINGTON, PA, Aug. 21, 2024 — Hammered down to 1-5, Always Gonna B You (Always A Virgin-Passing Fancy) looked every bit the heavy favorite, tolerating no challenges once on top and winning her second straight in Wednesday’s harness racing co-feature, an $11,500 Filly & Mare Conditioned Pace, at Hollywood Casino at The Meadows.

Always Gonna B You had to work a bit to wrest the early lead from Infinite Symbol, but the 5-year-old mare held Infinite Symbol at bay in the lane, defeating her by 2 lengths for Aaron Merriman in 1:51.1. Yippie Hanover was a ground-saving third.

ALWAYS GONNA B YOU REPLAY

Bill Bercury trains Always Gonna B You, who now boasts a lifetime bankroll of $492,016, for Renee Bercury.

In Wednesday’s companion feature, an $11,500 Conditioned Trot, Troycen (Cantab Hall-Love My Muscles) reasserted in the lane and triumphed in 1:55.3 for Hunter Myers, trainer Brandon Presto and owner Larry Parlin. The 5-year-old gelding lifted his career earnings to $164,964.

TROYCEN REPLAY

Jack Killeen and trainer Brian Rodriguez teamed for a pair of wins, as did Ronnie Wrenn, Jr. and trainer Ron Burke, while Jeremy Indof, Merriman, Mike Wilder and trainer Dirk Simpson also joined the double parade.

Live racing at The Meadows continues Thursday, first post 12:45 PM.
