HARRINGTON, Del. – George Leager’s Slick Tony ($5.80, Corey Callahan) notched his 48th career harness racing win Monday at Harrington Raceway with a 1:52.1 win in the featured $20,000 Open Pace.
The 6-year-old No Spin Zone stallion set all the fractions in his narrow win by a head over pocket sitting JJ Flynn and a hard charging Goldberg.
It was the seventh victory of the year for Slick Tony, who has banked $815,621 in his career. Slick Tony, a former horse of the meet at Harrington, has continued a successful career long after being a standout at 2 and 3 in the Delaware Standardbred Breeders Fund (DSBF) program for owner/trainer/breeder Leager.
