CHARLOTTETOWN, PE – High Roller (Big Jim) stepped to a new harness racing track record while snapping the win streak of the undefeated Chip Of Evil in Lady Slipper Stakes action Saturday evening (Sept. 30) at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.
High Roller sat third in her $18,800 Lady Slipper Gold assignment for two-year-old pacing fillies and the Melissa Rennie trained daughter of Big Jim powered up first-over in line to Adam Merner in the final half to shake loose for a new 1:55.2 track standard for rookie fillies. The formerly undefeated Chip Of Evil (Driven by Corey MacPherson) had to settle for second while co-holder of the former 1:55.4 track record Wednesday (Myles Heffernan Sr.) cut out the action and finished third. High Roller is owned by Kmac Stables of Stanhope and Cory Livingston of Village Green.

Goodmorning Nova (Arthur Blue Chip, Gilles Barrieau) won another $18,800 Lady Slipper Gold division for two-year-old fillies in 1:56.1 for trainer Dwane MacEachern and owners Melissa Banks and Jason Williams. Dusty Lanae Dixie was a 2:00.1 winner in her Gold division for trainer-driver Barrieau and owner David Lund.
GOODMORNING NOVA REPLAY
The $21,100 Joe O’Brien Memorial Gold divisions for two-year-old pacing colts were claimed by Merigo Magic (Tobago Cays, Merner) in 1:56.1 and Jackies Boy (Tobago Cays, Heffernan Sr.) in 1:57.2. Jackies Boy is owned and trained by Myles Heffernan Jr., while the ownership papers of Merigo Magic are held by Mike May, Herman Mcquaid, Derrick Cameron and Ian Walker.
MERIGO MAGIC REPLAY
Bee Two Bee (Sunshine Beach) won the $3,800 preferred pace in 1:52.4 in to trainer Jason Hughes for owners Donald MacRae and Blair MacLauchlan. Twin B Tuffenuff (Barrieau) was second ahead of Rollem (Merner).
Wager was $113,817.
